Mike’s career in the solid waste industry spans over 3 decades.  In 1985, he began working for the family business, DiBella Sanitation, Inc. which was located in northern New Jersey. Starting out as a truck driver. Mike eventually worked his way through all aspects of the business to become general manager by 1990.

In 1991, Mike started his own business in Albany NY, Environmental Waste Industries, Inc.  There, he developed EWI from a small startup business into a full collection and transfer operation over his 7 years of ownership.

Mike’s next venture brought him back to NJ where he founded Interstate Waste Services, Inc. in 1999.  Through organic growth and acquisition,  IWS quickly grew from a small collection business in northern NJ and NY state, to become a an industry leader in the region. Mike spent 7 years as chairman of the board and chief operating officer until 2006.

In 2007, Mike moved on from IWS to purchase  Action Carting Environmental Services, Inc. located in New York City.  Mike and the Action team quickly began acquiring collection businesses in NYC, where there hadn’t been a consolidator for over 10 years.

In November 2007, Action acquired the collection assets of Waste Management of NYC, which doubled the size of the company. From that point until today, Action has completed more than 15 acquisitions, including the assets of  Republic Services of NYC and Advanced Disposal Services, of NJ.
